Shortly before his 75th birthday, Wilhelm Schürmann (Jürgen Prochnow) has no desire to adapt his way of life to his health problems. When, after a fit of weakness, he was supposed to give up driving and move in with his daughter Bettina (Katja Studt), the headstrong old man decided to leave. Wilhelm sets off on the road with his vintage camping bus – but not alone and anything but voluntarily. The 16-year-old runaway Felix (Marinus Hohmann) clings to Wilhelm like a burr.
