Energy sales and services (after eliminations) “contribute respectively 66% and 34% of turnover for the first nine months of 2023”. The company specializing in renewable energies confirms its 2023 normative EBITDA target of around 275 million euros, doubled over one year

Voltalia announces the increase of the 2023 capacity objective in operation and construction to around 2.8 GW (compared to 2.6 GW previously); including around 2.3 GW in operation (+47% compared to the end of 2022).

“The third quarter was marked by numerous commissioning of power plants, for a total of 346 MW, to which must be added 99 MW since the beginning of October, reflecting the efforts of the teams in the field,” comments Sébastien Clerc, Managing Director of Voltalia. “Despite the restrictions put in place after the widespread power cut that occurred in August in Brazil, production in the third quarter is increasing as in each of the first two quarters.”

The challenges of water recycling

According to a report from the World Economic Forum, demand for water will jump by 55% by 2050. However, only 11% of water is recycled globally, with strong disparities depending on the country: if this rate reaches 89% in Israel, it falls to 15% in Spain. It is even less than 1% in France! The Veolia manager, however, believes that the rate of 10% targeted for 2030, as part of the new Water plan announced by the authorities, is achievable under certain conditions. At the forefront is administrative simplification. Veolia is committed to tripling its production of recycled water by 2030 to bring it to 3 billion m3. In this area, the world leader in environmental services strengthened its know-how during its takeover bid for the former Suez group.
