Declination of the latest health measures decided by the government, the obligation to wear a mask outdoors, in public spaces, comes into force in the department for municipalities with more than 12,000 inhabitants, namely Ambérieu-en-Bugey, Oyonnax , Valserhône, Gex, Saint-Genis-Pouilly and Bourg-en-Bresse.
From this Friday until January 31
With regard to Bourg-en-Bresse, taking into account its “urban configuration”, the area of obligation is restricted to the “interior perimeter” (delimited by boulevards Edouard-Herriot, Joliot-Currie, Saint-Nicolas, Victor- Hugo, Voltaire, Maréchal Leclerc, avenues des Anciens Combattants, de Mâcon, Jean-Jaurès, Pierre-Sémard, and rue du Pont des Chèvres), specifies the prefectural decree published this Thursday, December 30 at the end of the afternoon .
This measure applies from this Friday, December 31, and until January 31, from 7 a.m. to 2 a.m.
In addition, the obligation to wear a mask outdoors for all people 11 years of age or over (except exemption) is mandatory for all the municipalities of the department on markets, in gatherings, queues, at surroundings (radius of 50 meters) of bus and train stations, waiting areas for public transport, schools and places of worship, recalls the decree. The police will be responsible for monitoring the proper application of these measures.
And the mask is on the nose, not below!
Note: for New Year’s Eve on December 31, bars and restaurants will close at 1 a.m. at the latest.
Specific measures on New Year’s Eve
The prefecture of Ain announced Thursday evening in a press release the preventive measures taken throughout the territory of Ain for next night.
The consumption of alcoholic beverages and food on public roads is prohibited until 12 noon on January 2. Same measure concerning the possession and use of smoke, firecrackers or fireworks in all places of assembly, on the
public highway.
The Prefect of Ain, Catherine de la Robertie, also indicated that “checks will be carried out by the security forces. Any offense will be punished with a first class fine ”.
In addition, on the night of December 31 to January 1, drinking establishments with a license to consume on site and a restaurant license and establishments with a license to take away, must be closed at 1:00 a.m. .
