After Prince Andrew loses his military titles, the Grenadier Guards want Duchess Kate as their new Colonel.

The Grenadier Guards apparently want to ensure that Duchess Kate (40) becomes the new colonel of one of the oldest regiments in the British Army’s Guards Division. Prince William’s wife (39) would follow Prince Andrew (61), who recently had to give up the title.

Senior members of the regiment had declared according to a report by “The Sunday Times”.that they would like to see Kate in this role. “Everyone would love it if it were Kate,” a senior source said. Everyone admires how the 40-year-old has fitted in and given in the past.

Queen and Regiment appoint new Colonel

Queen Elizabeth II (95) currently holds the role by default after Andrew returned his titles. The new Colonel is chosen jointly by the Regiment and the Queen.

the Buckingham Palace announced on January 13th: “With the consent and assent of the Queen, the Duke of York’s military affiliations and royal patronage have been returned to the Queen.” Andrew also had to defend himself as a “private citizen” in the Virginia Giuffre (38) matter.

She sued in the United States in 2021 and accused the prince of sexually abusing her when she was a minor. Andrew denies the allegations, but a court recently denied a motion to dismiss the lawsuit. If an out-of-court settlement is not reached, a civil trial is expected in the fall.
