A 79-year-old French national died after being stabbed with a knife at a municipal market in Tiznit, near Agadir, in southwestern Morocco. The facts would have occurred on Saturday.

“Assault for theft”
The Moroccan police have opened an investigation. “The hypothesis of an assault for theft” was put forward by the investigators. The suspect, a 31-year-old man, is suspected of having committed “premeditated murder and attempted murder”,
He was arrested on Saturday evening in Agadir after attempting to physically assault customers at a cafe on the coast of Agadir, including a Belgian victim who was taken to hospital to receive necessary treatment.
Investigations are underway to determine the motives for his actions.
