The community is a part of this adventure, without which Star Citizen would never have seen the light of day. Since then, CIG has been striving to offer it the greatest possible visibility, through sharing on social networks, tools such as the Spectrum and the community hub.
It was therefore on the occasion of CitizenCon 2952 that Tyler Witkin, community director at CIG, took the opportunity to announce the redesign of this last tool thanks to the talents of Turbulent.
A new platform
Presented at the very end of this Citizenconthis new community hub features an all-new user interface more in line with the latest user interfaces made on the official Star Citizen website like the Spectrum.
We find there a home page with a carousel of the main creations of the moment as well as the next 4 sections :
- Live Streams – Your favorite streamers who stream Star Citizen will be displayed in this category.
- Trending – The latest trending creations from the community.
- Gameplay – For content creators on youtube, this section will show your latest videos in this category.
- Tutorials – For those helping the community through tutorials, whether in video, text or any other format, it is in this category that your creations will be displayed.
Discovery
A second section is available, Discover for “Discovery”, offers in the form of a map to discover the latest trends: via very advanced filtering and sorting options, you will have the possibility of discovering absolutely all the latest creations of the community.
About the filters. You will be able to filter the creations according to four types:
You will also be able to highlight the creations according to their “honor” to know if they were chosen by the CIG teams, if they have simple creations, or even made by MVPs (Most Valuable Playeror “best player” in French).
Finally, you can sort by a plethora of categories:

A very complete sorting tool is also included, you will have the possibility to sort the creations according to whether they are in trend, the most recent, the top daily, weekly, monthly, annual and of all time. Finally, a last sorting option displays them according to the most commented one.
In this discovery part, you will have the possibility, like the social network Reddit, “upvote” the creations to make them stand out. As before, you will always be able to comment on these creations and share them
Create
Post creation is simple, you will have the choice between the following three post types:
As for the stream, you will have to link your Twitch account to your RSI account so that your broadcasts are automatically published on the hub.
Once you have made your choice, all you have to do is fill in a form to indicate the titlethe abstract of your post, the upload of the file, the description of your creation and its category.
Your post is now published and available to everyone on the community hub !
