The horse racing stable operator Peter Süssner is found shot dead in the suburb of Cologne. A new lead emerges, however, when Dr. Engler (Thomas Heinze) recognizes Marek Kahlert (Sascha Alexander Gersak) on surveillance recordings from the crime scene. Kahlert, who had just been released from prison, had kidnapped a man many years ago and extorted a ransom, only part of which was found.
