After resigning on harassment charges, former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo has now been charged with a sexual offense. A court spokesman said Thursday a lawsuit had been filed with the Albany City Court for a “sex crime”.
Cuomo is accused of sticking his hand inside the victim’s blouse and grasping her chest in December 2020. The report says: “Especially on the victim’s left breast to humiliate them and satisfy their sexual desires.”
The incident allegedly took place on the afternoon of December 7th on the second floor of the Executive Mansion, the governor’s official residence.

Eleven women raise serious allegations
Cuomo resigned in August, anticipating impeachment proceedings. Previously, the New York attorney general Letitia James published a report in which the governor is accused of having sexually molested eleven women. The allegations are massive, but Cuomo has always denied them.
“The violent touch lawsuit filed against Cuomo today confirms the results of our report,” Attorney General James said on Thursday. Forced touch is an offense that can be punished with a prison term of up to one year.
Fallen star politician
The one from a politician dynasty Cuomo was elected governor in 2010 and has since become one of the stars of the Democrats. During the peak of the corona pandemic in spring 2020, the politician, who was praised for his crisis management, was even traded as a possible presidential candidate for his party.
However, he was later accused of hiding the extent of deaths in nursing homes – and more and more former employees accused him of sexual harassment. (AFP)
